Funeral services for Raymond August Klingbeil of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ascension Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Mark Boorsma will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ascension Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Raymond died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was 91.
Raymond was born Dec. 31, 1923, in Wells, the son of William and Millie (Bebler) Klingbeil. On Aug. 28, 1950, he was united in marriage to Vi Budach in Minnesota Lake. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Raymond farmed for many years in the Wells area before coming to Albert Lea in 1963, where he was a tool and die maker for Streater. He retired in 2003.
Raymond was a member of the Golden K-2 Kiwanis, loved working on old cars, reading, playing cards and social time with his friends. He also loved to fly.
He is survived by his children Sandy (Tim) Studier of Glenville, Micky (Mark) Henry of New Brighton, Laurie (Dave) Trebelhorn of Winthrop, David (Denise) Klingbeil of Coon Rapids and Tom (Pam) Klingbeil of Cottage Grove. Grandchildren include Justin (Lisa) Studier, Casey (Susie) Studier, Trevor (Trice) Studier, Grady (Crystal) Studier, Troy (Gabrielle) Studier, Trent (Rachel) Studier, Joe (Denise) Henry, Tracy (Deanna) Henry, Amy (Mike) Bettwy, Katie (Jarred) Britton, Jennifer (Sam) Maki, James (Tera) Willaert, Deitrich Klingbeil, Dwight Klingbeil, Dale Klingbeil and Sarah Klingbeil. Great-grandchildren include Gracie, Aliyah, Kallie, Dylan, Mason, Logan, Griffin, Whitney, Gage, Morgan, Eli, Boedy, Cashton, Ledger, Kinley, Carson, Hudson, Karina, Nick, Parker, Nolan, Clara, Emily, Elizabeth, Benjamin, Matthew, Savannah, Kelten and Abbygail. One sister-in-law survives, Jevonne Budach, of Glenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vi, in 2004; two sisters, Lorrane and Lois; and one brother, Ralph.
